IEC 60884 Plug & Socket Gauges (Go / No-Go)
Plug and socket gauges are go / no-go gauges used to verify the dimensional conformity of plugs and socket-outlets for household and similar use to IEC/EN 60884-1 and the relevant national plug/socket system standard. They confirm that pin positions, diameters, spacing and engagement faces are within the tolerances of the standard so that plugs and sockets are interchangeable and safe.
A gauge set typically includes both "go" gauges (which must fully engage) and "no-go" gauges (which must not engage), covering the specific socket system being checked. The gauges are made to the dimensions and tolerances defined in the standard sheets.
