Balance-Moment Test Device.

The Balance-Moment Test Device checks the torque and bending moment that a plug or accessory exerts when engaged, confirming per IEC 60884-1 that the assembly remains balanced and the contacts are not overstressed.

Test weights of 1–2.5 N act over an adjustable 0–200 mm force arm with a torque range of 0–3 N·m. ULMEKA designs and manufactures the device; the arm, weights and fixturing are configured on request.

Standard reference

The balance-moment (torque) test of IEC/EN 60884-1 verifies that a portable socket-outlet, with a plug inserted and a defined mass hung from it, does not rotate or tilt excessively — i.e. the engagement is mechanically stable. The device applies the bending moment defined by the standard.
