ANNUAL MAINTENANCE & RE-VERIFICATION

Keep your test equipment verified, year after year..

Periodic maintenance, wear-part replacement and re-verification for ULMEKA equipment in the field.

A delivered instrument is not the instrument you keep.

When a test rig is delivered, it is an instrument verified to specification and meeting its acceptance criteria. Then it starts working.

Heating elements wear. Seals harden. Sensors move away from their original reference point; this shift is silent, and because the device keeps running, it goes unnoticed. Spray nozzles clog, pressure regulators drift off their set point. The instrument still powers on, still shows a reading — but the value it shows may no longer be the value the specification describes.

The certificate records the day the instrument was verified. The instrument runs every day after that. The gap between the two grows over time, until a product that should pass in the field fails in your lab — or the reverse, a product that should fail passes. Both outcomes are expensive, and both come from the same source: an unverified test instrument.

Because we built it.

We designed and manufactured this instrument. Re-verifying a test rig requires knowing how it was built — and the people who built it know that best.

The full mechanical and electrical design, assembly tolerances and material choices are held in ULMEKA's engineering records. We also hold the reference data from the first verification performed before your device left the factory; this means we can compare today's measurement not against a theoretical limit, but against the instrument's actual behaviour on the day it was delivered. Spare parts are supplied to the original design.

A third-party service has to reverse-engineer the instrument to understand it. We don't have to — we drew it. These three things — the design record, the original verification data and access to original parts — are not available from a third party.

Since 2017 we have delivered dozens of instruments, and they remain in the field. As the party holding the as-built record for every unit we have shipped, we can track not a single device but an entire fleet of ULMEKA equipment against the same reference.

Scope.

The programme is limited to test equipment manufactured by ULMEKA. It does not cover other manufacturers' devices and is not a general-purpose calibration laboratory service. What it covers:

  • Inspection. Review of the mechanical, electrical and functional condition of the instrument; detection of wear and signs of drift.
  • Wear-part replacement. Replacing seals, sensors, heating elements, nozzles, filters and other consumed parts with parts built to the original design.
  • Re-adjustment. Returning parameters such as temperature, humidity, pressure and flow to the instrument's working point.
  • Re-verification. Re-verifying the instrument against its own acceptance criteria — that is, the verification basis it met on the day it was delivered.

Re-verification is performed against the basis on which the instrument was first verified — its acceptance criteria on the day it was delivered. This is a manufacturer verification; it is not accredited calibration (ISO/IEC 17025) traceable to national standards. Where accredited calibration is required, we are glad to point you to an accredited laboratory for it.

Two models.

The size and portability of the instrument determine the service model.

Remote support + ship-in (small devices). For portable instruments such as glow-wire, needle-flame and ball-pressure testers and IEC 61032 probes. Troubleshooting and initial assessment are done remotely; the device is shipped to us for maintenance and re-verification, then returned once the work is complete.

On-site service (large chambers). For fixed, large equipment such as climatic, temperature-humidity, thermal-shock and salt-fog chambers, and for IP ingress rigs. Our team comes to where the equipment is; maintenance, part replacement and re-verification are carried out on site.

Which model applies is set by the device class from the outset and confirmed at the quotation stage.

Pricing.

Pricing is by device class and given at the quotation stage — no hourly billing and no costs that surface after the work; the annual fee is known before you sign.

Who it is for.

The programme is for organisations with ULMEKA equipment in the field — in particular:

  • manufacturers and laboratories that have taken delivery of a ULMEKA test instrument since 2017,
  • organisations where the accuracy of the test equipment directly affects the product conformity decision,
  • teams that want to make maintenance and verification cost predictable on an annual basis.

If you have one or more ULMEKA instruments on site, each can be brought under the annual maintenance and re-verification programme.
