DO-160 Section Selector.
Pick an RTCA DO-160 section to see its title and the ULMEKA test systems offered for it. Sections without a catalogue system route straight to our custom engineering team.
Test it with ULMEKA
ULMEKA designs and manufactures test systems for the environmental sections of RTCA DO-160 — altitude, temperature, humidity, shock, vibration, explosive atmosphere, rain, sand and dust, salt atmosphere, icing and fire. The exact configuration is defined during the quotation stage.
DO-160 test equipment →Frequently asked questions.
How many sections does RTCA DO-160 have?
The standard is structured into 26 sections, each addressing one environmental stress or category. Sections 4 to 26 define the tests this selector lists; equipment is qualified to a severity category within each applicable section. The current version is DO-160G.
Who decides which DO-160 sections apply to my equipment?
Not the standard itself. The applicable sections and severity categories are determined by the equipment installation location, the aircraft category and the relevant certification basis, agreed with the certification authority.
What is the difference between DO-160 and MIL-STD-810?
DO-160 is the environmental qualification framework for airborne equipment on civil aircraft, while MIL-STD-810 covers defense materiel. They are conceptually parallel but use different methods, severities and platform models.
What is EUROCAE ED-14?
ED-14 is the European equivalent of DO-160. The two standards are jointly maintained and substantively identical, so qualification to one is normally quoted alongside the other.
Which DO-160 sections does ULMEKA build test systems for?
Catalogue systems cover the environmental sections: low pressure (Section 4), temperature (Sections 4 and 5), humidity (6), shock (7), vibration (8), explosive atmosphere (9), rain (10), sand and dust (12), salt atmosphere (14), icing (24) and fire and burning resistance (26). For the remaining sections, send your requirement and our engineers will respond with a feasibility assessment.
