Abrasion resistance of plug-pin insulating sleeves per IEC 60884-1
The Pin Insulation Wear Test Device assesses the abrasion resistance of the insulating sleeves on plug pins, per IEC 60884-1, by repeatedly moving a steel wire across the insulation under load.
Wear runs at 30 ± 1 cycles/min under a 4 ± 1 N load for an adjustable count up to 999999. ULMEKA designs and manufactures the device; load and cycle settings are configured on request.

This test of IEC/EN 60884-1 assesses the abrasion resistance of the insulating sleeves on plug pins after repeated insertion/withdrawal, confirming that the insulation remains effective so that accessible parts do not become live.
