Overview
High-pressure testing proves that hoses, fittings and pressure components hold their rated pressure safely. A hydrostatic pressure test fills the part with liquid and raises the pressure in a controlled way, so a pressure rating can be demonstrated rather than assumed.

It covers proof and burst pressure, leakage, change in length and volumetric expansion of pressurised parts — the integrity checks behind hydraulic and pneumatic components, hose assemblies, fittings and manifolds.
Related Standards
EN ISO 1402 provides the common hydrostatic test methods; hose construction and pressure classes are set by hose-family standards such as the SAE J517 and EN 853 series. The applicable set depends on the component and the target market.
Equipment & Configuration
A high-pressure test station combines a pressure source (typically a hydraulic pump), a controlled fixture sized to the sample, and instrumentation that records pressure against time. Test pressure range and fixturing are selected for the part under test.
