Colour / Light Assessment Cabinet (Multi-Illuminant Viewing Booth).

The Colour / Light Assessment Cabinet provides the controlled lighting in which colour and appearance are judged consistently. Samples are viewed under a selectable set of standardised light sources — D65 daylight, store and office fluorescents (TL84/CWF), incandescent (Illuminant A) and a UV source for optical-brightener detection — so that a match made under one light can be checked for metamerism under another.

The interior is a neutral matt grey (Munsell N7) to avoid colour bias, lit to the illuminance and colour-rendering levels set out in ISO 3664 and ASTM D1729 for critical visual evaluation. Each lamp bank is switched independently, with a lamp-hours counter to track lamp life and replacement.

ULMEKA designs and manufactures this cabinet. The illuminant set, cabinet size and illuminance level are built to the inspection task and the applicable practice (ISO 3664 for imaging, ASTM D1729 for general industrial colour); the exact configuration is defined during the quotation stage.
