MIL-STD-810H Rain (MIL-STD-810G Method 506.5) Test Chamber
The MIL-STD-810H Rain Test Chamber is designed to test the resistance of military and commercial materials against rain, water spray, or dripping water. These tests evaluate the material’s protective ability against water ingress, its functionality after rain exposure, and its physical integrity. The tests are performed using three main procedures. These procedures are as follows:
Procedure I: Rain and Wind-driven Rain Test
- The material is subjected to a specified water flow (minimum 1.7 mm/min) and wind speed.
- All surfaces are exposed to water from different angles for a duration of 30 minutes.
Procedure II: Intense Test
- Used for larger materials.
- All surfaces are exposed to high-pressure water (276 kPa) and flow rate (20.8 L/min) for 40 minutes.
Procedure III: Drip Test
- The material is exposed to water dripping from the upper surfaces for 30 minutes. This test simulates the effects of water caused by condensation.
