Lamp Holder Torque Test Device.

IEC 60598
Industries Served

Torque testing of lamp holders to IEC 60598 — screw/bayonet caps, CW & CCW

Test SamplesE10, E14, B15, B22, E26, E27, E40
Torque Range0–10 N·m
Accuracy±1%
Test DirectionClockwise & counter-clockwise

The Lamp Holder Torque Test Device measures the torque a lamp holder withstands as a lamp cap is inserted, rotated and removed, verifying that the holder retains the cap and resists loosening or damage under normal handling, in line with IEC 60598 luminaire requirements.

It accepts the common screw and bayonet cap types (E10, E14, B15, B22, E26, E27, E40) and applies torque in both clockwise and counter-clockwise directions, with the value shown on a digital torsion gauge.

ULMEKA designs and manufactures this equipment in-house; sample fixtures, torque range and reporting are configured to customer requirements on request.

Standard reference

IEC 60598-1 (with the lamp-holder standards of the IEC 60061 / IEC 60238 series) requires that a lamp holder withstands the torque of inserting and removing a lamp without loosening or damage. The device applies the defined torque to verify mechanical strength of the holder mounting.
