IEC 60335
Inclined Plane / Stability (Tip-Over) Test Apparatus (IEC 60335-1 Clause 20).
Tilting platform for the IEC 60335-1 Clause 20 stability test of household appliances.
The Inclined Plane / Stability Test Apparatus performs the stability test of IEC 60335-1 Clause 20. The appliance is placed on a platform inclined at the angle the standard requires — 10° for the general test, 15° for appliances with heating elements — and is checked, in each of its normal-use positions and with the supply cord in the most unfavourable position, to confirm it does not tip over.
The platform tilt is set and read on an angle indicator, and the table accepts a range of appliance footprints. The test is run with the appliance not connected to the supply; appliances holding liquid are tested both empty and filled, and lids or covers are placed in the least favourable configuration. If an appliance tips over, the heating test of Clause 11 is then applied in the overturned position.
ULMEKA designs and manufactures this apparatus. Platform size, the tilt range and manual or motorised drive are built to the appliances under test and the applicable standard; the exact configuration is defined during the quotation stage.
