IPX5 and IPX6 Dust Test Chambers<\/strong><\/p>\n

IPX5 and IPX6 Dust Test Chambers<\/strong> are used to test the dust resistance of electrical devices, based on the IEC 60529<\/strong> standard. These tests are performed to determine the level of dust resistance of a device. IP5X<\/strong> indicates that the device is protected against dust, while IP6X<\/strong> indicates that the device is completely dust-tight.<\/p>\n

IPX5 (Protected Against Dust)<\/strong><\/p>\n

As per IEC 60529, Section 13.4<\/strong>, the test for IPX5<\/strong> requires the use of talcum powder with a particle size of 75 microns. Additionally, the talcum powder should be replenished after every 20 tests, and the dust volume should be 2 kg per cubic meter.<\/p>\n

IPX6 (Dust-Tight Protection)<\/strong><\/p>\n

The test for IPX6<\/strong> is also detailed in IEC 60529<\/strong>. During this test, the device is exposed to fine dust particles, such as talcum powder, and the objective is to prevent any dust penetration.<\/p>\n
