The Thin-Film Oven Test (TFOT) method is used to determine the loss in mass of bituminous compounds due to heat and air exposure in semisolid bituminous materials.
The oven’s internal chamber is constructed from stainless steel and insulated with fiberglass, while the external frame is made of electrostatically powder-coated steel. It features a centrally located window on the door for easy observation. Rubber legs provide stability and allow for convenient benchtop operation.
The control system is a digital PID controller with a built-in timer for precise test time management. Temperature control is easily programmable, with a maximum temperature rating of 250°C. To ensure safety, the oven is equipped with a dual safety thermostat to prevent accidental overheating. The plate rotates at a speed of 5-6 rpm.
Accessories such as containers and trays are not included and must be ordered separately. The oven operates on a 220V, 50-60 Hz power supply.
