The Rolling Thin-Film Oven (RTFOT) is used to assess the effects of heat and air on asphalt binder properties. It features an advanced design, robust construction, and dependable accuracy, meeting all relevant test method specifications.
The internal chamber is constructed from stainless steel, insulated with fiberglass, while the external frame is made of electrostatic powder-coated steel. The oven has a door with a centrally located window and is equipped with rubber legs for easy benchtop operation.
The oven requires a connection to a compressed air source providing 8 bar pressure. A 25-liter capacity air pressure pump must be ordered separately.
The control system consists of a digital PID controller, with a built-in timer to regulate test times. The temperature is precisely controlled and can be easily programmed, with a maximum temperature rating of up to 250°C. The rear inside wall features a vertical carriage, driven by an electric motor rotating at 15 rpm.
The oven is supplied complete with a flow meter, a digital thermostat to maintain a 163°C temperature, and 8 heat-resistant glass containers (64 mm high x 140 mm diameter). Power supply is 220 V, 50-60 Hz.
