The Class II (laminar flow) cabinet is designed to minimize the hazards associated with working with agents classified under biosafety levels 1, 2, 3, or 4.
The laminar flow cabinet meets the essential requirements of the EN 12469 and NSF/ANSI 49 standards for design, construction, and performance, ensuring protection for personnel, products, and the environment.
A laminar flow cabinet is an enclosed workstation that creates a contamination-free work environment by using filters to capture all particles entering the cabinet.
The cabinet is designed to protect the work from the environment. Air moves in two directions within the cabinet: one part is exhausted to the room at the front, preventing room air from entering the working zone. The remaining internal air is recirculated through the back holes of the cabinet, which helps extend the life of the HEPA filter.
