The laboratory chemical fume hood is the most commonly used local exhaust ventilation system in laboratories. When used correctly, fume hoods provide a high level of protection for the user.
The primary function of a chemical fume hood is to prevent the release of hazardous substances into the laboratory environment by containing and exhausting hazardous and/or odorous chemicals. The exhaust fan, typically positioned at the top, pulls air through the ductwork connected to the hood and expels it into the atmosphere.
In the event of an accidental spill, the fume hood effectively contains the spilled chemicals and directs the fumes away from the user and the laboratory area.
Main Features
- The main body is constructed of 1 mm thick electro-galvanized steel (zinc-coated to prevent rust, even if the powder coating is abraded) with an epoxy antimicrobial powder-coated finish that also prevents contamination.
- Rugged dual-wall construction.
- Slotted rear baffle for even plenum balance.
- The hood features a vertical-rising glass sash with automatic motor control and adjustable height.
- Various worktop materials are available to accommodate different chemical handling requirements. The worktop is positioned at a height of 930 mm with a raised rim.
- Equipped with easy-to-use controls, positioned outside the working area for a more convenient user experience.
