What is the Needle Flame Test?

The needle flame test simulates a small flame caused by an electrical fault, such as a short circuit or spark. Purpose of the Test

Features of the Needle Flame Test Device

The Needle Flame Controller consists of a needle-shaped burner with a Ø0.9 mm nozzle angled at 45° and supplied with butane gas. It assesses fire hazards in equipment caused by ignition under fault conditions by evaluating the flammability, burning duration, and length of the sample. This test device complies with the standard requirements specified in IEC 60695-11-5 and IEC 60598-1, Clause 4.
